2026年1月22日(木)、広島県立賀茂高等学校にて、「総合的な探究の時間(GAP)」の一貫として、高校2年生44名を対象に講演会を実施しました。
ディスカッションベースの講演会で、日本の観光について高校生と一緒に考えることのできる場となりました。

講演の概要

当日は、以下の流れでプログラムを進行しました。

• 講演の趣旨説明・導入
• 日本の観光についてのディスカッション
• Both ways プロジェクトの紹介

一方的に話を聞く形式ではなく、生徒の皆さん自身が考え、意見を交わすディスカッションベースの授業を実施しました。

日本の観光をテーマにした探究

講演では、日本がなぜ海外の観光客に人気なのか、またゴールデンルートとはどこを指すのかといったテーマについて、生徒同士で意見を出し合いました。

観光地として有名な場所だけでなく、地域の日常や人とのつながりに目を向けることで、観光の新しい可能性が見えてくることを共有しました。

講演内で紹介した視点・考え方

講演会の中では、Both ways プロジェクトの事例を用いながら、人と人、地域と観光客がどのように関わることで新しい価値が生まれるのかという視点を紹介しました。

また、ご縁、絆、双方向の学びといったキーワードを通して、日常の生活や地域との協働そのものが学びや物語になること、そして地域コミュニティが主役となる観光やプロジェクトのあり方についても紹介しました。

講演を通して

今回の講演会を通じて、生徒の皆さんが地域、観光、人との関係性を自分ごととして考えるきっかけになったと感じています。

Both ways は今後も、地域に根ざした実践や対話を通して、双方向の学びが生まれる場づくりを続けていきます。

Rethinking Tourism in Japan – A Lecture at Hiroshima Prefectural Kamo High School

I am Hanneke van Driel, an Enjin player.

On Thursday, January 22, 2026, we held a lecture for second-year students at Hiroshima Prefectural Kamo High School as part of their Period for Inquiry-Based Learning.
The session was conducted in an active, discussion-based format, creating an opportunity to think together with students about tourism in Japan.

Overview of the Lecture

The program was structured as follows.

• Introduction and explanation of the purpose of the lecture
• Discussion on tourism in Japan
• Introduction of the Both ways project

Rather than a one-way lecture, the session emphasized a discussion-based approach, encouraging students to actively exchange ideas with one another.

Exploring Tourism in Japan

During the lecture, students discussed topics such as why Japan is popular among international tourists and what is meant by the Golden Route.

By shifting focus away from only well-known tourist destinations and toward everyday local life and human connections, we explored new possibilities for tourism together.

Perspectives Introduced During the Lecture

Using examples from the Both ways project, we introduced the perspective of how new value can emerge through the relationships between people, local communities, and tourists.

In addition, through keywords such as Goen, Kizuna, and mutual learning, we discussed how everyday activities and collaboration with local communities can themselves become meaningful learning experiences and stories, and how tourism and projects can be led by local communities.

Reflections on the Lecture

We felt that this lecture provided a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on community, tourism, and human relationships in a way that felt personal to them.

Both ways will continue to create spaces for mutual learning through dialogue and hands-on experiences rooted in local communities.
